World Oceans Day: A Message For All

On June 8, 2021 people celebrated World Oceans Day to spread awareness and make a change to our environment. India has started a campaign in order manage plastic wastes in our oceans and help to reduce the use of single-use plastics. A quote from the NDTV says,

“At least 8 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, and make up 80 per cent of all marine debris from surface waters to deep-sea sediments,” according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

This statistic is a perfectly good reason to why we need to make this change happen sooner than later in order to protect our Earth’s future. As the plastic waste continues to grow more and more marine life is dying and there’s only so much we can do.
