Hi, my name is Colin Cuff. I’m a Junior at La Canada High School in Southern California. I have long loved the beach and the ocean environment. One issue that routinely comes up is the pollution of our oceans. Whether that’s because of fossil fuels, or other pollutants, one that’s constantly in the news is single use plastics. Plastic bags, plastic cups, plastic anything.
The issue hits home for me in a variety of ways. Growing up, my family and I would routinely spend our weekends going to the beach. Whether it be Venice, Santa Monica, New Port, or Santa Barbara. I have always been aware of recycling and picking up trash at the beach, in order to keep it clean. Seeing plastic on the beach has always been something thats upset me and made me think. I want to make a change by bringing attention to the issue of single-use plastics and trash on the beach. Through this non-profit I will publish review articles, give my personal perspective, and go to events covering these problems. My goal is to make a change for the better of the world.
Come join me on this quest to eliminate single-use plastics!
